The Karamijong live and die for cattle, the determinant of seemingly everything in a pastoral life. This is what drives many to live as nomadic warriors. The children have never attended school. A new alternative basic education scheme in the region includes Shepherd Schools setting up close to where their families graze livestock. (Karamoja, Northern Uganda)
